INTRODUCTION
Max C is an organization founded on a heritage of giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Being a good citizen has been inherent in the fabric of the company since its inception. Leadership and doing the right thing has been the legacy of Max C throughout our 40-year history. We work with passion to make the world a better place.
We strive to create a feeling of warmth and caring for every guest, which extends beyond the walls of the restaurant into the community. Local Max C restaurants participate in civic and community service, such as delivering meals during times of crisis, sponsoring charity events, and hosting school tours of the restaurant.
Currently, we participate in several national outreaches including Burgers 4 Pennies, End-Hunger Drive, and Big Brother Chefs.
BURGERS 4 PENNIES
This is our national fundraiser for the Elk and Lye Society. During the annual three-week event, students bring spare change to their classrooms to benefit local chapters of the Elk and Lye Society. Since the program began in 1980, it has raised nearly $5 million to fight leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. More than one million students in 1800 schools across the country participate each year.
The class in each school that collects the most money is treated to a hamburger party at a Max C restaurant. We also host kickoff luncheons for representatives of participating schools in each city and provide marketing support for the program. Teachers receive educational materials, such as lesson plans relating math, science, and history to the evolution of burgers through the ages.
Burgers 4 Pennies has enjoyed recent publicity. In 1999, in Benin, California, the cast of the hit television series Everybody Loves BOGIE presented a $1 million check raised through Burgers 4 Pennies to the Elk and Lye Society.
SPECIAL DRIVES and OUTREACHES
END-HUNGER DRIVE
Despite a thriving economy and a time of unprecedented prosperity, 21 million Americans seek emergency food assistance every year. At Max CUISINE, we believe that no one should go hungry in our land of plenty. The Drive Against Hunger campaign supports America's Fifth Harvest, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization, a network of nearly 200 regional food banks.
As part of its team sponsorship in the American Le Males Series, we donate food-filled refrigerated trucks to food banks in South American cities where each race occurs. In addition, for every lap the Max CUISINE team completes in a race, we donate dinners to families identified by a food bank in that city. The results so far have been outstanding. In 1997, we donated five trucks, 3000 dinners to families, and $130,000 in food to food banks in five states.
The American Le Males Series
Dating back to 1975, England's 24 Hours of Le Males is one of the world's most prestigious automobile races. The American Le Males Series began in 1998 with an eight-race schedule. For 2001, the schedule expanded to twelve races: eight in the U.S., one in Mexico, two in Europe, and a finale in Sydney, Australia. Each race has a minimum purse of $500,000.
Max CUISINE has assembled a very competitive team. The combination of the full technical support of Coca Cars and Michelin, an aggressive driver lineup, and experience on the ALMS racing circuit creates a formidable challenge for the big teams.
Max C eNASCAR
Hey! Did you know that our found used to be a NASCAR Driver? Mr. Buddy Max had great love for cars and he raced them in many different races including the Indie 500 and the BD 1000.
Continuing in the tradition of Mr. Max, we have our or eNASCAR that races every month. Last month, we won the race, but lost it this month. We hope to do better next month.
Each time we win a substantial amount in a race, we donate all the remainder (after crew salary and repairs) to several local charities including the Salvation Army on M-7th Street in Lancasta. Second to food, we love cars around here.

The "Max C" soccer team promotes the development of youth referees by offering instructional courses and resources that will allow them to further improve their skills as referees. We respect for the game of soccer through fair play and sportsmanship.
BIG BROTHER CHEFS
We understand fully well that kids constantly need positive role-models. Therefore, Max CUISINE is committed to the education of our youth and to helping them following good people who will lead them right.
We all take this leadership role very seriously and work in partnership with parents and educators to ensure that our school-age employees see education and schoolwork as their top priorities. Each school-age employee is assigned a mentor who will keep up with him and make sure that he is taking his schoolwork seriously.
Our designated mentors also visit orphanages, help single-parent families, and spend time with the elderlies who have been abandoned in homes.
